Car Washing Preparation

So you have set aside a few hours to give your pride and joy a little TLC. You have already purchased the right equipment for the job and are raring to go. However, before you get started there are a few things to check. Firstly make sure that you are not working in direct sunlight and that your car will remain in the shade until you have finished. The last thing you want is for the soapy water to scorch onto your paintwork (this will just make the job 10 times harder and will not do you any favours).

Secondly you need to check that your wash mitt and buckets are not contaminated with any grit or dirt from the last time they were used. I would also check your drying towel as well at this stage.

Finally I also like to ensure that the paint surface is not too hot. If it is then leave the car in the shade to cool for a few minutes before you proceed. The same applies to the wheels so if you have just been for a hard drive then it is time to put the kettle on and come back later.

Now we can make a start on cleaning the wheels. goto - cleaning your wheels
